Inpop Records will be responsible for providing the soundtrack for one of this year's most epic blockbusters, God's Not Dead. Inpop is recruiting some of the biggest names in contemporary Christian music to contribute to the stellar CD compilation. Artists such as Newsboys, Superchick, JJ Weeks Band, Jimmy Needham, Stellar Kart,
Tricia and more will all add there own signature spin to the soundtrack slated for a March 4 release.
Borrowing the title from the Newsboys single "God's Not Dead," the film follows college freshman Josh Wheaton who is challenged by his atheist philosophy professor to provide evidence of God's existence.
Similar to the soundtrack the film, scheduled to hit 600 theaters across the country March 21, also stars an incredible cast which includes Kevin Sorbo (Hercules: The Legendary Journeys), Shane Harper (High School Musical 2), David A.R. White (Six: The Mark Unleashed) and Dean Cain (Lois & Cark: The New Adventures of Superman).
The project's debut single "Hold You Up," from actor/artist Shane Harper is already gaining steam on Christian AC, CHR, and Hot AC formats. The song is already getting radio play on Air1 Radio Network and The Fish Los Angeles.
"This project is a wonderful opportunity for the label and we are thrilled with the early success of Shane's single," says Mark Lusk, President/General Manager, Inpop Records. "To combine music from some of the most high-profile Christian artists with the movie will help to drive the message of the film, and the exposure will be extensive with a massive marketing campaign for both projects. We are honored to have Inpop Records partner with Pure Flix Entertainment for such an important venture."
