by admin on Feb.22, 2009, under Mat Kearney, press release

Inpop/Aware/Columbia Records singer-songwriter Mat Kearney will release his third studio project, City of Black & White, on May 19, 2009. Following the success of Nothing Left To Lose, Kearney returns with an album of evolved sound and a world of new experiences.

Winding down a whirlwind five years on the road as a new artist, Kearney recently settled into his new hometown of Nashville, TN. It is there that he found the songs for City of Black & White, opening up the writing process to friends and local musicians, crafting songs such as “Fire and Rain,” “Here We Go” and the album’s lead single, “Closer To Love,” going for adds at Christian AC and CHR radio on March 20.

“Inpop first discovered Mat Kearney in 2004, and it is thrilling to see how far Mat has come,” says Shara Katerberg-Hsu, director of marketing for Inpop Records. “Due to our partnership with Aware/Columbia, City of Black & White will be available in Christian retail stores as well as in mainstream and digital outlets, with Inpop handling all Christian market radio promotions, publicity and marketing.”

Superchick at the GRAMMY Awards

by admin on Feb.09, 2009, under News, Superchick

This past weekend, Superchick headed to Los Angeles to attend the GRAMMY Awards. Although they didn’t win (congratulations tobyMac for taking home the award for Best Rock/Rap Gospel Album), the band still feels honored just to have been offered the chance to be nominated and to participate in such an event.

“Being nominated for our first GRAMMY this year was such an amazing honor,” says Superchick frontwoman Tricia Brock Baumhardt. “I came back home with a renewed love for our industry and for what I have the privilege to do for a living.”

“The entire weekend at the GRAMMY’s was incredibly inspiring,” adds guitarist Dave Ghazarian. “Having the opportunity to see and even meet so many people who have devoted so much of their lives to their art, and seeing how their hard work has paid off and touched so many people’s lives… It was an honor to be a part of it and it gives me a renewed energy to continue to make music that will influence people towards an eternal purpose.”
