Award-winning roots band Newworldson’s highly anticipated sophomore project is now in stores. The self-titled album is already seeing early critical and consumer success with a No. 3 single at Christian radio as well as glowing reviews from online media.
Produced by Newworldson alongside veteran co-producer Justin Koop (Silverstein, Finger Eleven) and GRAMMY Award-winning mix engineer F. Reid Shippen (India.Arie, Jonny Lang), the new project is largely influenced by the band’s international travels, subsequently capturing an even bigger, more dynamic sound than its previous effort. This growth is evident to media who are impressed by the disc’s musical prowess:
“Sensational musicianship, keen lyrical themes and a bossy vibe that is just plain cool, Newworldson’s ‘it’ factor is off the charts.” –CCM Magazine
“If you were to buy one CD in the month of February (and yes I know, new tobyMac AND Fireflight AND Lifehouse albums release in February) it should be this one. Newworldson is the freshest act in Christian music…” –The Christian Manifesto
“The punchy rhythms strike from every direction like a heavyweight prizefighter knocking crowds onto the dance floor… a rootsy blend of old school musicianship rips the heart out of each instrument and holds it up to prove to the world that Newworldson shares a united pulse. ‘This album rocks’ is the biggest understatement of the year … a musical grandslam in the bottom of the ninth.” –CBN
“… easily one of the most anticipated musical releases of the year for serious fans of Christian music… Overall, you’ll be hard pressed to find an album as eclectic and interesting as Newworldson’s self-titled sophomore outing.” –The Bridge Live
“Newworldson is just plain good music played by engaging musicians – an album refreshingly free of pretentious musical or lyrical posturing, with a genuine visceral appeal yet commercially viable. Is it high art? All I know is this – I think I’ll play it again after I stop typing.” –Soul-Audio
“It all boils down to authenticity, and these boys have got it … Newworldson is the real deal, delivering real music with a real mission.”– The Phantom Tollbooth
In additional to acclaim from print media, radio promoters nationwide are praising “There Is A Way,” the debut single from Newworldson’s latest project. This week, the song climbed to No. 3 on the Radio & Records chart.
“’There Is A Way’ is a fresh new sound that really shines through the speakers!” – Mike Prendergast, KLTY/Dallas
“‘There Is A Way’ sounds great on the air! It’s easy to sing along to, without sacrificing a great lyric. And it’s testing VERY well for us!” – Jim Beeler, KSBJ/Houston
“People let the first Newworldson record slip by – I know that won’t happen this time! We’re playing a new cut every day on the air this week and the response has been incredible! This new project is fantastic!” – Tom Krimsier, WBSN/New Orleans
On the digital sales charts, Newworldson is making early headway ranking No. 3 on the iTunes Christian/Gospel Albums chart and Inpop Records expects to see the album make a strong showing on the SoundScan charts.
“We have been overwhelmed with the support from radio and retail on the band’s new record,” says Dale Bray, Inpop Records general manager. “The industry has all been in agreement that Newworldson has exceptional talent, and now it’s great to see the record selling so well and the song at the top of radio playlists all around the world. It really does show that true talent and creativity can rise to the top of this commercial world.”

GRAMMY Award nominated pop-rock group Superchick is offering a free download of its song “Courage” (from the Beauty From Pain album) Feb. 21-27 in support of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
The song was originally inspired by Superchick guitarist/vocalist Melissa Brock’s personal struggle with an eating disorder. Melissa explains, “I know full-well the pressures that society and even friends sometimes place on us to be thin and beautiful. It started for me when I was 15. I know what it’s like to not feel pretty, to feel fat, to feel like no one would ever want to be with you or even be friends with you because you feel so bad about yourself. BUT I also know how it feels to be free from those pressures and feel a love and acceptance that isn’t humanly possible. This week I am sharing my story, the whole story. And I hope that it reaches someone out there who has been or is where I have been. The biggest step is knowing you aren’t alone.”
